Resiliency is the tenth scale of our Personal Responsibility Map®, which is the core assessment in our goal setting and self-determination program. Resiliency is the ability to work through activities and cause bottom-line results to happen. Resiliency includes the ability to bounce back from setbacks and to achieve a stated goal. Simply stated, resiliency is being able to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a term used to describe the proactive approach of establishing the behavioral supports needed for students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success. This definition brings together the worlds of academic instruction and behavioral intervention. For PBIS to be successful, helping students learn how to set and achieve behavior-related goals is crucial.

Why Resiliency is A BIG Deal

When one fails to reach a goal or goal achievement becomes difficult, resiliency is key to persisting or trying again. The difference between success and failure is how one deals with failure. Successful people learn how to deal with difficulty or failure. When they fail, they get back up and start over. This is resiliency at its core.
